Faber and Perseus Books Join Forces to Provide Global Digital Services.

Faber and Faber in the UK and The Perseus Books Group in the US, two of the world’s leading independent book publishers and distributors, have announced a new joint venture company to provide a suite of global digital services for independent publishers based in the UK, Ireland and Commonwealth.

The two companies have entered into an agreement to establish Faber Factory Powered by Constellation, a joint venture based in the UK.

Faber and Faber partners with NetGalley to make advanced reading copies available digitally.

Faber and Faber is the first UK publisher to partner with NetGalley, the innovative and easy-to-use online service and connection point for book publishers and professional readers. Under the terms of the partnership Faber will release secure digital proofs of their titles through the US-based website to reviewers, booksellers, librarians and bloggers in the UK and internationally.

Bloomsbury and Faber announce Drama Online – a new partnership to provide online access to the world’s finest drama from the last two and half thousand years.

Bloomsbury Publishing Plc and Faber and Faber Limited will launch Drama Online in October 2012, creating a digital content platform for libraries, educators, students and researchers to be sold via subscription and perpetual access to academic institutions.

Ken Livingstone's Memoirs

Faber and Faber is delighted to announce the acquisition of Ken Livingstone’s memoirs. In a deal concluded with Jonathan Lloyd at Curtis Brown, Faber bought world rights and will publish in November 2011.

‘Immediately after I lost the election I planned to write a book about the eight years of my mayoralty but by the autumn of 2008, with no certainty that I would be Labour's candidate for mayor and every possibility that I would never hold office again, it seemed the right point to write my autobiography and draw out the lessons I had learnt in 40 years of political activity. It’s an indication of how fast politics moves that by the time I completed it I was once again back in the race for office.'

Eighty Years of Faber and Faber

In 1929 Faber and Faber was founded, with an inaugural list that included the finest poets of the day.
