Faber Partners with NetGalley for Digital Proofs :

24th August 2011

Faber and Faber partners with NetGalley to make advanced reading copies available digitally.

Faber and Faber is the first UK publisher to partner with NetGalley, the innovative and easy-to-use online service and connection point for book publishers and professional readers. Under the terms of the partnership Faber will release secure digital proofs of their titles through the US-based website to reviewers, booksellers, librarians and bloggers in the UK and internationally.

‘Faber and Faber is delighted to be partnering with NetGalley which provides such a neat way of delivering advanced reading copies to the people who help shape the fate of a book. The number of reviewers and booksellers asking us for digital proofs has grown steadily over the last six months and NetGalley offer a secure and cost-effective way to meet this demand. We’ll be making the first of our digital proofs available to our contacts in early September and we anticipate having a rolling catalogue of twenty books available at any one time - watch this space!’ Joanna Ellis, Marketing Director

‘Faber is implementing a digital first workflow which allows us to provide early proofs in the range of formats required for all major reading devices. The creation of our own digital works gives us both a great degree of flexibility and very tight quality control. Faber’s digital proofs should be in excellent shape’ David Watkins, Head of Editorial Text Management

Professional readers can register for free with NetGalley and request access to a publisher’s digital proofs at www.netgalley.com. Publishers approve requests based on the information provided by the professional reader in their Bio. Once approved NetGalley members will be able to view the secure digital proofs, plus press materials on all major reading devices including the Kindle, Kobo Reader, Nook, Sony Reader plus tablets like iPad and Android and their computers. Publishers can also invite contacts to view their proofs using NetGalley’s email invitation widget, a secure, pre-approved link.

Over 100 publishers in the US, Canada and Australia and over 36,000 professional readers already use NetGalley.
